Educational use
Sugar Decoder is an educational tool designed to help users identify names contained in its reference database that may appear on food ingredient labels.
Sugar Decoder does not diagnose, treat, prevent or cure diabetes or any other medical condition and does not provide individualized medical, dietetic or nutritional advice.
A match means that text detected on an ingredient label corresponds to an entry in the Sugar Decoder reference database. A match does not, by itself, determine the quantity of that ingredient, the product's total or added sugar content, its glycemic effect, or whether the product is appropriate for an individual.
Optical character recognition (OCR), product labels and the reference database can contain errors or variations. Always verify Sugar Decoder results against the original product label. A no-match result does not prove that a product contains no sugar, sweetener, or carbohydrate of concern.
Do not use Sugar Decoder to make medication changes or to replace professional care. Questions about diabetes, medication, allergies, diet, nutrition, or other health conditions should be discussed with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
Free scans
The free version includes 5 completed scans per calendar month. The allowance resets at the start of each month and unused scans do not carry over.
